PUBLIC HEARING: A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. prior to the Council Meeting in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 520 Jackson Avenue, Charleston, Illinois. The City of Charleston anticipates the submission of an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Program grant application to the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) by September 13, 2024. The purpose of the Hearing is to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federal funded project. The funds are to be used for a community development project that will include the following activities: finance improvements within Linder Sports Complex. Improvements are anticipated to include (but not limited to): Dedicated Pickleball courts, parking, access, signage, site clearing and grading, surfacing and drainage. Interested persons are welcome to attend.
